With a privileged location in the riverside area of Porto and 15 minutes from the airport, the NEYA Porto Hotel overlooks the banks of the Douro, offering a breathtaking view of the river that meets the ideal conditions to escape the daily routine and make a family trip, or for a stay on business or leisure.
The hotel was born from the recovery of part of the ruins of the Madre Deus de Monchique Convent and, after the construction, it has kept the original convent moth and the garden cloisters, preserving the history of the building.

Since its creation in 2011, NEYA Hotels Group has made a difference in sustainable and conscious tourism.
After the first project in Lisbon, the concept was replicated for our second unit, the NEYA Porto Hotel, which was born from the recovery of the ruins of a building of Manueline architecture, the Convent Madre Deus de Monchique. An ecologically responsible and socially fair project, where management that respects natural resources is sought, through energy and water consumption optimisation solutions, low impact mobility solutions, as well as effective management of all waste produced.
The architecture and decoration project was inspired by the riverside area of the city of Porto, the exuberant baroque architecture of churches and convents that contrasts with the buildings and bridges of the nineteenth century, in a harmonious junction between past and present. The construction has retained the convent’s original design, preserving the building’s history and the original materials, stone, wood and iron and concrete from the time it was an industrial warehouse. This memory of an industrial past is also reflected in the decoration of the hotel, especially in the suites that have as their theme the “Route of Industries”, which has the representation of brands such as Bordalo Pinheiro, Delta Cafés or Vista Alegre, among other national references.
The convent past has joined the industrial past and the cosmopolitan life of the present to create an urban refuge of great tranquility. A hotel with its own identity, relaxing outdoor spaces and a panoramic and breathtaking view over the banks of the Douro.
Facilities
NEYA Porto Hotel offers 124 rooms, including 12 suites, designed to provide a sense of tranquillity and deep nights of rest. All rooms have a fabulous view over the Douro, Cloister or Garden and are decorated in a contemporary way with historical details. The decoration of the suites falls under the theme “Route of Industries”, which aims to revive memories of the industrial era of the city of Porto.
Each room is soundproofed and is also equipped with a desk, minibar, satellite TV, free wi-fi, air conditioning and heating, telephone, laundry and wake-up service, Castelbel amenities and includes buffet breakfast.
The hotel also has at your disposal a Business Center with multifunctional rooms prepared to receive any kind of event, a Day Spa with a wide range of treatments and massages and a Kids Club to provide the maximum entertainment to the little ones.
The Viva Porto restaurant, inspired by traditional Portuguese gastronomy, has an authentic cuisine that carefully selects products from the region and the season, where you can enjoy a unique gastronomic experience enjoying the view over the Douro.
The Último bar is a mandatory meeting point in the city of Porto that offers a wide variety of cocktails, light meals and snacks, where you can enjoy a panoramic view over the Douro River.
What to do
Its proximity to the Alfândega do Porto Congress Centre (5 minute walk) and the historical area of the city (20 minute walk) make it the ideal hotel for leisure or business trips. On a trip to the city of Oporto, be sure to stroll along the riverside area of the city, in the vicinity of the hotel and visit the ex-libris of the city, the Torre dos Clérigos, 18 minutes walk from the hotel.
How to get there
Train – From Campanhã you can go to São Bento and there take a bus.
Bus – From São Bento Station you can take the 500 bus, which stops right in front of your accommodation.
Car – The accommodation is only 5min away from Boavista roundabout.
