Your Green Tour
Aveiro welcomes us with a Welcome Drink and a dinner at a city hotel. After we are refreshed, the night is free to get to know this beautiful maritime city with water and salt in its soul. The urban landscape is crossed by canals where we can sail in painted boats, known as moliceiros.
After breakfast, we will take the famous moliceiro’s walk in Ria de Aveiro, enjoying the city’s living history. In the old days, these boats were used to help in the harvesting of the molliço, an alga used to fertilize the agricultural fields. Today, there are several boats with colourful panels and “jucosos” that we see sailing in the channels of the Ria de Aveiro. After lunch in a local restaurant, we will learn how to make Ovos Moles, a local delicacy from the district of Aveiro, made of yolks and sugar. The day ends with another typical dinner in the region.
We finish this escapade with a thematic visit about “Sal”, to know the framing of the Salinas in the Ria de Aveiro and the production process of Sal de Aveiro. We left Aveiro towards Ovar/Furadouro for a delicious lunch. In the end, it is time to return and share this experience with our friends.
