Your Green Tour

We started the first day with a Welcome Drink in a hotel in Coimbra and then with a nice dinner in a typical restaurant in the city. To end the night in beauty, nothing better than a night accompanied by the sound of the Coimbra Song, organized by Fado ao Centro.

We leave Coimbra for the village of Candal, where we will make the Schist Path of Lousã – Route of Four Villages. In the surroundings of the Schist Villages the fauna and flora is breathtaking. With a bit of luck we can even spot boars and even deer. After a brief stop in the village of Talasnal for lunch, we will continue the route. Once the Schist Path of Lousã is finished, we arrive at the Castle of Arouce, situated two kilometres from Lousã. After a long day full of activities, it’s time to relax a bit in the lodging until dinner time.

We leave Lousã for the village of Piódão, with a stop at Fraga da Pena and Mata da Margaraça, which is inserted in the Protected Area of Serra do Açor, where Fraga da Pena is hidden, a privileged place to meet nature. An idyllic scenery where the water makes its way through the vegetation and the schistous surface, and plunges into a majestic waterfall of over 20 meters. We have lunch in Piódão and take a circular route to the place of Foz d’Égua (7 km). Then we leave for Aldeia das Dez, where we will stay in a Rural Hotel or local accommodation and have dinner in the village.

After recharging up with breakfast, we headed for Lagoa Comprida, the best known and largest lake in the Serra da Estrela mountain range. Built from a natural lagoon, it constitutes the main water reservoir of the mountain. Here, we will do a SUP activity, enjoying the lagoon in a very original way. Lunch will be in a typical regional restaurant. After visiting the Tower, we will go down the Glacier to Manteigas and visit the Glacier Interpretation Center, which aims to show other perspectives and visions of the Zêzere Glacier Valley and the tourist potentialities of the Manteigas Municipality. On this day, we will stay at a hotel in the region.

On the last day, we traveled to the village of Santar, where we found the Paço dos Cunhas, a 17th century property, one of the oldest agricultural and wine estates in the Dão region and an example of how generous Nature can be. Paço dos Cunhas has always been linked to agricultural production, and we have been used to producing fabulous wines. In the Paço dos Cunhas we breathe tradition in every corner. Here, we will enjoy a wonderful wine lunch in the restaurant. As all that is good ends, the time comes to return, always waiting for the next adventure.
