Casa Valxisto – Country House

Originally an Agricultural House, the friendly and familiar Casa Valxisto – Country House, in Penafiel, invites us to enjoy moments of great quality and communion with the environment, in a space full of stories to tell.

With about a century of life, the house was previously used for the agricultural activities of the Quinta de Valverde (Penafiel), where several family generations lived. Casa Valxisto has not forgotten its origins and has maintained the family spirit and the offer of a proximity, comfort and quality service.

Casa Valxisto – Country House, certified by Biosphere Responsible Tourism, works hard for the preservation of the history of the space where it is located and for environmental sustainability, namely in terms of energy. In it we find solar panels that heat the water of all rooms in addition to the LED lamps that are present throughout the House, which allow saving and preserving the environment.

The separation of waste generated is another environmentally sustainable practice that Casa Valxisto proudly implemented. Guests are also encouraged to get to know the surrounding region by using the bicycles that the House provides free of charge.

At the Casa restaurant, the ingredients are carefully selected, privileging local products to present the best delicacies of the region.

Casa Valxisto has seven rooms available (of various typologies), three of which are properly equipped for people with reduced mobility. You can stay in Tangerine, Lavender or Blueberry, because each room has the name and color of a fruit or flower that grow on the farm.

The large hall of the House is a great option to socialize by the fireplace and/or to enjoy a moment of leisure, such as the dispute of a game at the pool table there present.

To taste the local delicacies, you can reserve your place in the restaurant of Casa Valxisto (maximum capacity 30 people), also with history, having been a lagar in the “past life”, which was reused. To make the local gastronomy known to larger groups (up to 60 people), you can use the leisure room to serve meals.
